From 29 October till 4 November we once again celebrated Día de Muertos. With must-sees like the Great Altar of the Dead, a series of masterclasses plus ‘Fandango’ jam session with musicians from Mexico and the Procesión with a closing concert on the Place du Jeu de Balle! A pocket edition also took place in Ghent on 1/11 in collaboration with Bij' De Vieze Gasten.

Another new feature of this edition: a Día de Muertos celebration in Ghent in collaboration with Bij' De Vieze Gasten. This socio-artistic house in the Brugse Poort district was inspired by the five previous editions to organise the first Marollian Día de Muertos outside of Brussels, in collaboration with MetX. They built a gigantic paper boat for their departed, presented it to the Ghent public on 1 November, accompanied by the musicians of Banda Quetzal, and burned it during a ritual after La Procesión on 4 November.
