From 26 October to 1 November, we are celebrating the Mexican Day of the Dead in the Marolles neighbourhood with Tas d'Os and many other partners! The programme includes concerts, music workshops, Fusion Fandango, the Grand Altar of the Dead, Cafés Mortels, a walk through the cemetery, the Procesión on Saturday 31 October and much more!

26/10 Inauguration Grand Altar of the Dead 📍 Parvis centre culturel Bruegel

Chaque année, le Grand Autel des Morts sert comme lieu d’accueil pour y déposer des messages, des photos, des bougies, des fleurs et toutes sortes de souvenirs en hommage à nos chers défunts. L'inauguration festive, accompagnée par la musique du groupe Banda Quetzal, marque le coup d'envoi officiel du festival Día de Muertos. Read more

26 & 27/10 Workshop Son Jarocho 📍 centre culturel Bruegel

A workshop with musicians Camil Meseguer Rioux, Jerónimo González García, Helio Martín del Campo, Emiliano Coronel, Andrés Márquez, Ricardo Amadeus and Armando Tovar. Open to amateur and professional musicians, who can bring their own instruments or play with jaranas (rhythm guitars) and other typical Son Jarocho instruments provided. Read more

28/10 Concert SONEX 📍 centre culturel Bruegel

The band SONEX, coming straight from Mexico for the festival, comprises Camil Meseguer Rioux (violin and vocals), Jerónimo González García (jarana) and Helio Martín del Campo (cajón, percussion and vocals). The band’s origins lie, on the one hand, in the city’s vibrant energy and the rhythmic beats of various musical genres, and, on the other, in the festive yet solemn harmony of Son Jarocho. Read more

30/10 Fusion Fandango #9 📍 Parvis centre culturel Bruegel

A jam session that brings together musicians, dancers and singers, as well as residents of the Marolles district and beyond, around the tarima, a wooden stage on which couples perform zapateado, a form of traditional Mexican tap dancing. Read more

31/10 La Procesión 📍 Bouleverd du Midi > Place du Jeu de Balle

Come and join us in large numbers, joyfully illuminated. The Great Procesión starts from Boulevard du Midi and winds its way through the Marolles with a.o. Banda Quetzal, BRUiTAL, Strak-X & OOAA!, before arriving at Place du Jeu de Balle for a final concert with surprise guests! Read more

01/11 Concert Ana Vaga 📍 centre culturel Bruegel

A singer-songwriter and poet, Ana Vega was immersed from a very young age in the sounds of boleros, rancheras and Spanish-language poetry. Accompanied by her own guitar and that of Luca Isolani, she draws inspiration from the traditions and emotions of her native Mexico. Read more
