Bakanaï

A multidisciplinary ensemble with dansers, brass players, percussionists and other transportable instruments. Not just a brass band, but a multidisciplinary laboratory for experimenting with all kinds of musical and artistic conventions. The artistic direction was in the hands of Laurent Blondiau (Mâäk), Bodé Owa (Negrociations) and dancers from the collectif En Archipel.

During rehearsals, all members worked on a number of grooves and moves and developed a common repertoire for the concerts. They juggled with all kinds of riffs and rhythms on a sizzling and continuously swelling baseline. Imagine a musical Rubik’s Cube offering new directions at every turn!
