As part of the neighbourhood contract Jonction Marolles (2015–2018), MetX developed a large-scale participatory music project: intercultural, intergenerational and interdisciplinary. Under the guidance of experienced artists from the worlds of jazz and global sounds scene, brass bands, choirs, percussion groups, majorettes, dancers and soloists – both trained and untrained – worked together to create an idiosyncratic musical and visual adventure. A metropolitan symphony full of mesmerising grooves, fragile solos and megaphones.

The project took shape through a range of activities: on the one hand, a series of participatory concerts held at venues including Recyclart and La Monnaie, during which around a hundred musicians, dancers and singers performed on stage under the direction of our music creators Luc Mishalle, Laurent Blondiau and Vital Schraenen. On the other hand, participatory workshops, jam sessions and other festive events that encouraged people to make music together, regardless of their level or background.
A production by MetX as part of the neighbourhood contract Jonction Marolles with the support of the City of Brussels, the Brussels-Capital Region, VGC and Vlaanderen.
Stemagnifique, La Chorale de Navitas, Remork & Karkaba, La Fanfare du Docteur Poembak, VelotroniX, Zaveldal/Brede School Nieuwland, Le Mignonettes, Les Mercredis Artistiques, MgfnX Orchestra and many others.
